Learn tips and techniques of Sumingashi water-based paper marbling. Create your own one-of-a-kind marbled papers and explore this playful, meditative process. Suminagashi means "floating ink" and in this class you'll do just that. Using paintbrushes, marbling inks, water, and paper, you'll float different colored inks on the water's surface, playing with surface tension. Use breath, a paintbrush, or other tools to move the ink across the surface of the water, and then drop your paper in. Through this process, you'll learn how to create a variety of different swirling, organic patterned designs. This class is a wonderful creative exploration that's perfect for learners of all ages.
